This unit  of competency describes the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to a casualty.

The unit applies to all workers who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings

Specific licensing requirements relating to this competency, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority

HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resusitation

HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support

HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

Course Delivery

This course will be delivered in the Workplace or at Industry Training and Assessment Services facility

Course Duration

 

Face to Face - 7.5 hours - full face to face course

Blended Delivery - 5.5 hrs - face to face course with the addition of 2 hours

self-paced learning to be completed prior to attending the face to face course

Refresher Training - 5.5 hour- You need to provide previous current Certificate

No work placement is required for this course

Assessment Requirements

Participants undertaking this course will be expected to complete both written and practical assessment

which include the following:

Performance Tasks 

Practical Scenarios

Theory Assessment consisting of multiple choice questions

The participant must successfully complete all performance tasks, practical scenarios and theory assessments in order to be deemed competent
